When your child starts MSJ, you automatically become a member of the Parents and Friends Association – PFA for short.
An exciting calendar of activities is planned annually, which is run by the parents themselves, some of whom are members of the PFA Committee which meet monthly. The staff and directors, along with friends of the school, also get fully involved!
Being part of this great group of people can be fun and we really do have a laugh! We don’t hold you to coming to meetings, or for your help, but just appreciate any time you have.
The PFA’s first Treat Friday was a huge success! We raised £236, selling sweets, preloved uniform and lucky dips. We were overwhelmed by your support and even sold out of all our treats!
On Thursday 28th November, we will host our school discos. Key Stage 1 can come along for a twirl on the dance floor from 4-5pm. Key Stage 2 can boogie their hearts out from 5:15-6:30pm. Tickets will cost £3.50 and will be on sale at the school office. Each child will receive a packet of crisps and squash & water will be available throughout the evening.
We are always looking for volunteers to help out at these events. If you feel you may be able to lend a hand for either disco, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
You can raise money for Moordown St John’s, simply by signing up to Easy Fundraising. Click on the link to register and you can claim cashback for our school through your online shopping. A Just Eat order recently earned the school £2.50 and a purchase from The Book People added £1.39 to the pot. Small amounts like this will quickly add up over a year. You can even earn money for MSJ with your Amazon shopping. Just follow the links through the Easy Fundraising app to Amazon Smile and select our school as your chosen charity.
We want to raise as much as possible, so please visit our new easyfundraising page at www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/moordownstjohnsschool and click ‘support us’.

We are always keenly looking for more parents to come along to our meetings to share ideas and to help out at events. Please either pop in to our next meeting, drop us an email or leave your name and best number to contact you on at the school reception for our attention.
We really hope to see you soon and take this opportunity to leave you with this thought;
Everything the PFA does is for Moordown St John’s children – your children – and the school!
Thanks for your continued support.
