Welcome to Moordown St John's Online
Introduction
mrherbert-med

I am delighted to introduce Moordown St. John's CE VA Primary School to you and as Head teacher I welcome you on behalf of the pupils, staff and governors to our Church School serving the community of Moordown and Parish of St. John's.

I hope you find our website interesting, informative and above all I hope you begin to get a taste of life at Moordown St. Johns Church of England Primary School.  One of our key aims is 'partnership' and it is therefore vital that our pupils' parents regard Moordown St. John's as 'their' school. The closer the partnership formed between home and school the more we are able together to further your child's education.

We are very proud of our school and the progress, achievements, well being and contentment of our pupils is paramount to us. We aim for every child to reach their full potential and to leave Moordown St. John's equipped as life long learners eager to enjoy life, love learning, take responsibility as citizens and be ambitious in all they do.

Please do not hesitate to call us if you require any further information and you are most welcome to visit the school by appointment and see us in action.

Yours sincerely,
Mr. Peter Herbert
Headteacher

Fire Escape Advice PDF Print E-mail

Sometimes fires do happen, but you can help make sure you and your family can get out of your home safely.

Smoke alarms

Have a working smoke alarm on each floor of your home,

Test it each week to check it works.

Never ignore a beeping smoke alarm.

Escape plans

Have an escape plan, this should include:

·         Everyone knowing the way to get out of the home if there is a fire.

·         Having a second way out in case the first is blocked by fire.

·         Keeping the escape routes clear of things which could trip you up, especially on the stairs. (Think about getting out in the dark)

·         Knowing where the door and window keys are and making sure they are near the doors and windows.

·         Have a meeting point outside so you know everyone is out safely.

·         Know your address.

·         Make sure everyone you live with knows the escape plan.
