The Spirit of Christmas is strong at Moordown St John’s …

Thank you so much for your generosity this Christmas with the many appeals to help others in need.

Pyjama Day – Raising money for Refugees

Our focus on refugees raised £273.97 to go towards buying much-needed warm clothes and blankets. We held a pyjama day and asked the children to bring in coins and plot the journey on a map in the school hall showing the hazardous route taken by many refugees.

Christmas Jumper Day

Our Christmas Jumper day brought in 4 elephants’ weight in food to share with those in need through the Kinson Foodbank.  Our School Parliament were overwhelmed by the huge amount of food brought in, which means many families who would not have had a treat at Christmas will now benefit from your kindness and generosity.

Carols in the Square
A fantastic ensemble of Moordown St John’s Choir joined together on a frosty December Saturday after lots of rehearsals to perform a collection of traditional and modern Christmas carols. The event was in aid of the Mayor’s Charities which supports 7 local charities and the group made an outstanding £216.28 in just over 2 hours! They were also joined by his Worship the Mayor of Bournemouth and the Mayoress who joined in with carols such as Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer! The group entertained hundreds of shoppers and passers-by in Bournemouth Square and were regularly applauded for their fantastic singing and probably their very festive outfits…we had angels, reindeers, santas and all sorts of christmas attire on display! The real Santa Councillor Amedeo Angiolini also played his part by helping collect money and the event was a great and fun success!
