On Friday 22nd May our school received a visit from Duncan Goodhew, ex Olympic swimming gold medallist. Duncan started his visit by swimming with 20 of our Year 3 pupils in the pool. During their 1 and a half hours in the pool Duncan helped them with their swimming strokes, played some games and organised races. After the pool session Duncan came into our school assembly. He showed the whole school his Olympic gold medal and his 2013 Olympic torch, which was one of the 7 used to light the London Olympic flame. After presenting some awards to our year 4 swimming team and class awards, Duncan gave us all a talk about the importance of learning to swim at school and how much he still loved to swim daily. An honour for our school as he was very impressed with our standard of swimming too!
