MSJ had a special visit from the Bournemouth West MP, Mr Conor Burns, on Thursday 7th February.
The school’s Sustainability team met with Mr Burns to discuss with him our most recent whole school Art and DT project. We focussed on recycling and making our planet more sustainable. We showed him our fantastic year group sea creatures made from a selection of materials.
The whole school came together for an assembly to share our learning and ideas with Mr Burns. In the assembly, each class presented him with a list of their suggestions on how to make Bournemouth a cleaner and more environmentally friendly area.
As well as this, Year 4 had spent time writing letters to him which he will take to Parliament. Afterwards, our school Parliament met with Mr Burns and asked him a selection of questions regarding this very important issue of sustainability and what he is doing to make changes. We asked for advice on how our school could help make changes too. He gave us lots of suggestions that we can try to implement in our local community.
