Rights Respecting in School

We are very proud to say that we have been awarded the highest Right Respecting Schools Award (Level 2) by UNICEF.  Our school community have really grown together on our Rights Respecting journey and will continue to do so as we embed and develop our understanding of what it means to be a Global Citizen

Right Respecting Schools Award (Level 2) Report

At the start of each school year the children think about what will make their classrooms happy places of learning and draw up a charter based on children’s right and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. Charters explain what rights the children have, what they will do to ensure that all of their peers realise each right and what the adults will do to support them.

The key elements of all of the classroom charters across school are combined to create a Whole School Charter and the children similarly create an agreement for playtimes, the Playground Charter.
