There will be no hot school meals for the foreseeable future. This minimises movement around the school and prevents unnecessary cleaning and potential contamination. The children will have packed lunches, which they will eat in the classroom in their own bubbles ~ these can be ordered online via Chartwells.
The deadline for ordering lunches will be midnight on Sunday, 7 days before the week in which the meals are required. You can order packed lunches further in advance if you prefer. Alternatively, you can send in a packed lunch from home.
Pupils in Years R, 1 and 2 are entitled to receive free packed lunches under the Universal Infant Free school meal initiative. Families on low incomes in other year groups may also be eligible.
How much do packed lunches cost?
Families that are not eligible for free meals may order a packed lunch at a cost of £2.45 per child, per day.
How do I order packed lunches
All packed lunches must be ordered on-line from our provider, Chartwells (The Creative Kitchen for schools).
Their website is dorset.mealselector.co.uk or click on the Chartwells logo here and on our homepage.
What happens if I forget to order meals?
Please note that meals will only be provided to children if they have been ordered online prior to the deadline.
If you do not order a lunch for your child, you will need to provide a packed lunch from home.
If you need help with paying for packed lunches for your child/children please visit our FREE SCHOOL MEALS page for more information.
